Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Uttarakhand

Situated at a height of 1300 m from sea level , Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is one of the most famous temple in India dedicated to Lord Shiva, Situated about 30 km from Rishikesh . Nellkanth Temple is a famous pilgrimage near Rishikesh, the temple lies above Swargashram adjacent to Nar Narayan mountain range.

History of Neelkanth Mahadev Temple

According to legends, Neelkanth mahadev Temple is a Holy place where Lord Mahadev consumed the Poison originated from Samundra Manthan and placed in his throat that results lord Mahadev’s throat blue in color and Named Neelkanth ( Neel means blue, Kanth means throat ).

Mahashivratri a day when many Devotees came to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple with full rejoice  and celebrated this Day by offering Milk ,Bail Patra , Coconut, Flowers to Shivalinga .
