Yamunotri Dham is one of the four sacred sites, collectively known as Chota Char Dham, which are located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is located at an elevation of 3,293 meters in the western region of the Garhwal Himalayas. Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River, which is considered sacred by Hindus.

The temple of Yamunotri is dedicated to goddess Yamuna and is located near the Yamuna River. The temple opens on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya (usually falls in April or May) and closes on the day of Yama Dwitiya (the second day after Diwali). The temple receives a large number of pilgrims during the summer months from May to June and in the winter months from October to November.

 Yamunotri Dham is one of the four sacred sites, collectively known as Chota Char Dham, which are located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Here's a day-wise itinerary for the Yamunotri trek from Dehradun:

 

Day 1: Dehradun to Janki Chatti (170 km)

You will start your journey early in the morning from Dehradun and drive towards Janki Chatti via Mussoorie and Barkot. The drive takes around 7-8 hours and is a scenic one, with beautiful views of the mountains and valleys.

Day 2: Janki Chatti to Yamunotri and back (12 km)

You will start your trek from Janki Chatti to Yamunotri early in the morning. The trek is approximately 6 km long and takes around 3-4 hours to complete. Once you reach Yamunotri, you can visit the temple and take a dip in the hot water spring. You will then trek back to Janki Chatti, which takes another 3-4 hours.

Day 3: Janki Chatti to Dehradun (170 km)

You will start your journey back to Dehradun early in the morning. The drive takes around 7-8 hours, and you will reach Dehradun by evening.

Best Time to Visit

Best time to visit Yamunotri Dham Temple | Best time to explore Yamunotri Trek

The best time to visit Yamunotri Dham is during the summer months, which are from mid-April to June and then again from September to November during the autumn season. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the temperature ranges from 10°C to 20°C, making it comfortable for visitors to explore the temple and the surrounding areas.

The monsoon season, which lasts from July to August, should be avoided as the region receives heavy rainfall, and the trekking routes can become dangerous and difficult to navigate. If you are still planning to visit during monsoon be update with roads and weather condition.

The winter season, which lasts from December to March, is also not suitable for visiting Yamunotri Dham as the region experiences heavy snowfall, and the temple remains closed during this time.

  2. At Trek, all meals will be provided ( Healthy Food)
  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

Cancellation Policy

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
