Bagji Bugyal Trek – One of the Less Explored Treks in Uttarakhand

Sitauted at an elevation of 11100ft. above the sea level, Bagji Bugyal Trek is a popular Himalayan trek located in the Border of Garhwal and Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state in Chamoli District, India. The trek is known for its stunning views of the snow-capped mountains, alpine forests, and beautiful meadows. The trek starts from the Village of Ghasi, and ends at Himni Villlage.

Here's a day-wise itinerary for the Bagji Bugyal Trek:

 

Day 1: Dehradun to Ghesi Village (300km approx., 8 to 9 hours drive):

Start your journey from Dehradun to Ghesi Village which is around 300km distance. You can also use shared taxies or hire entire one. Direct shared taxi is not available for Ghesi Village.

 

Day 2: Ghesi Village to Bagji Bugyal Base Camp Trek (6 km, 5-6 hours)

Start your Trek early morning with proper healthy breakfast from Ghesi village to Bagji Bugyal Trek. You will trek around 6 kilometers uphill between dense forest of Rhododendron, Deodar and Oak trees.

 

Day 3: Bagji Bugyal base Camp to Dhulomb via Bagji Bugyal Trek (7 km, 5 to 6 hours)

On the third day, you will trek to the Bagji Bugyal Top, which is situated at an altitude of 3200 meters. The trek involves a steep ascent, but the views from the top are worth it. Trekkers can spend some time at the top, taking in the panoramic views of the Himalayan range. After exploring, trek back to Dhulomb and stay overnight there.

 

Day 4: Dhulomp to Himni Village (6 km, 3-4 hours)

On the fourth day, trekkers will descend back to Himni Village. The trek involves a steep descent, and trekkers need to be careful while descending. Once back in Munsiyari, trekkers can explore the town and interact with the locals.

 

Day 5: Himni Village to Dehradun (300 km approx., 7 to 8 hours):

Drive back to Dehradun with sweet memories of Bagji Bugyal Trek.
