Guptkashi Town – Rudraprayag

At an elevation of 1319m above the sea level, Guptakashi is a one of the famous town located in Garhwal Region, Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand State. Guptkashi is known for popular Pilgrimage sites like Ancient Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Ardhanereshvara temple. Vishwanath Temple is similar to Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and It is believed by locals that If you are unable to visit Kashi Vishwanath, you can visit and take blessing from Vishwanath temple of Guptkashi. This Town is situated on the way to the Kedarnath, one of the Chota Char Dhams and Panch Kedars. From Guptkashi Town you can explore scenic views of snow-covered peaks of Chaukhamba and enjoys a salubrious weather throughout the year. Sonprayag: Situated around 30 kilometers from Guptkashi, Sonprayag is a picturesque spot where the rivers Mandakini and Basuki meet. It is the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath and serves as a significant stopover for pilgrims. Ukhimath: Located approximately 18 kilometers from Guptkashi, Ukhimath is a small town known for its religious and cultural significance. It serves as the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath and offers beautiful views of the snow-covered peaks. Ukhimath is also an excellent base for treks to Deoria Tal and Tungnath.

Chopta: Situated around 38 kilometers from Guptkashi, Chopta is a picturesque hill station known as the "Mini Switzerland of India." It offers breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks, lush meadows, and dense forests. Chopta is the starting point for treks to Tungnath (highest Shiva temple in the world) and Chandrashila Peak.

Koteshwar Temple: Located about 47 kilometers from Gupkashi Town, Koteshwar Temple is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River and offers a serene and peaceful environment for devotees.

Kedarnath Temple: Located approximately 45 kilometers from Gupkashi Town, the Kedarnath Temple is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites in India.
