At an elevation of 1870 m above the sea level, Jageshwar Dham – Dedicated to Lord Shiva is one of the oldest Shiva Temple in India, Located in Almora District of Uttarakhand State. Jageshwar is the 8th Jyotirling among the Twelve and has great religious value. The Main temple of Shiva is covered by 124 small ancient temples of different gods in the form of stone idols. This Heritage site protected under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as Jageshwar Dham is about 2500 years old and belong to the post-Gupta and pre-medieval eras.
