Day Wise Itinerary to Namik Glacier Trek | Namik Glacier Trek Route Full Details     

Namik Glacier is a glacier located in the Pithoragarh district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an altitude of around 3,600 meters above sea level and is one of the popular trekking destinations in the region. Here is Day wise Itinerary to namik Glacier

 

Day 1: Kathgodam to Gogina Village (228 km, 10-11 hours)

Start your day 1 from Kathgodam to Gogina Village which is around 240 km distance. You can use share taxi from Kathgodam to bageshwar then Shama and then Gogina village or can book entire taxi. Stay there in Gogina Village for night.

 

Day 2: Gogoina Village to Namik Village (6 km, 3-4 hours)

Day 2 trek will take you Namik Village from Gogina Village, you can start your trek without any hurry. Prepare yourself to Trek with proper gears and essential stuff like food, tent and others. Set your tent in Namik Village and stay there for night.

 

Day 3: Namik Village to Chaffhu Top (12 km, 7-8 hours)

Todays trek is bit of steep and takes you to Chaffhu Top which is around 13 kilometers from Namik Viallge. Set your tent in Chaffhu Top and stay there for night. Do remember to take enough water as it’s hard to find water source, especially in early winter.

 

Day 4: Chaffhu Top to Sarp Kund (16 km, 8-9 hours)

Start your trek early morning after having breakfast to reach Sarp kund through snow patch trails along the top of hill. After trek approx16 from Chaffhu Top, you will reach to Sarp Kund. Set your tent there and rest for overnight.

 

Day 5: Sarp Kund to Namik Glacier Zero Point and back to Sarp Kund (8 km, 3-4 hours)

Today is the most challenging day of the trek as you'll trek to the Namik Glacier and back. The trek takes you through rocky terrain and steep slopes, but the views of the glacier are well worth the effort. After exploring Namik Glacier start your trail back to Sarp kund and set your tent there for night.

 

Day 6: Sarp Kund to Namik Village (28 km, 8 to 9 hours)

Start your trek early morning to reach Namik Village. As you have to trek down hill, you will easily cover 28 km distance from Sarp Village to Namik Village. Set your tent ans rest for overnight.

 

Day 7: Namik Village to Kathgodam (234 km, 8-9 hours)

After reaching Gogina Village from Namik Village which is at a distance of 6 km down hill trek, start your drive back to Kathgodam memorable moments of Namik Glacier Trek.

Best Time to Visit

Best time to explore Namik Glacier Trek | Best time to visit Namik Glacer Trek

The best time to explore the Namik Glacier Trek is from April to June and from September to November. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, providing excellent visibility of the surrounding peaks. The temperatures during these months are also moderate, making it ideal for trekking.

During Monsoon, it is not recommended to explore Namik Glacier as roads may block due to heavy rain fall and trail gets difficult and risky to trek. If you are still planning to visit during monsoon, be update with roads and weather conditions.

During the winter months of December to March, Namik Glacier Trek is covered in snow, making it difficult to trek. The temperatures also drop to sub-zero levels, making it unsafe for trekkers to venture out. Therefore, it is not recommended to explore the Namik Glacier Trek during the winter months.

  1. During the trek, there will be places to stay in Camps or Tents (Camping)
  2. At Trek, all meals will be provided ( Healthy Food)
  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
