Nandi Kund Trek

Nandi Kund is a high-altitude lake located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The lake is situated at an altitude of 4,300 meters above sea level and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glaciers. The trek to Nandi Kund is a challenging and scenic trek that takes you through remote villages, high-altitude meadows, and breath-taking landscapes. The trek starts from the village of Ransi in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand via Madhyamaheshwar and takes you through the Pandav Sera trail before branching off towards Nandi Kund. The trek is best done between May and June and then again in September and October. During the trek, you will get to see stunning views of the Nanda Devi and Trishul peaks, as well as the beautiful mini meadows. The trek is a great option for experienced trekkers who are looking for a challenging and off-the-beaten-path adventure in the Himalayas.

Day wise Itinerary Nandi Kund Trek | Nandi Kund Trek Route Full Guide

Nandi Kund Trek is one of less explored treks in chamoli District, Uttarakhand. During the trek, you will get to see stunning views of the beautiful Himalayan peaks, natural water resuorces, glaciers as well as the beautiful mini meadows. Here’s a day-wise itinerary for the Nandi Kund trek via the Ransi Village, Gaundhar, Madhyamaheshwar, and Pandav Sera route:

 

Day 1: Rishikesh to Ransi Village: Start your Journey from Rishikesh to Ransi Village, which is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. You can take a taxi or bus from Rishikesh to Ransi Village, which takes about 7-8 hours from Rishikesh.

Day 2: Ransi Village to Gaundhar Village: Nandi Kund trek starts from Ransi Village to Gaundhar Village is about 4 km distance and takes around 1-2 hours to complete. First day of trek is short, you will love to explore these villages, can connect with local peoples, way of living pahadi life using natural resources etc. Stay in Gaundhar village, you will easily find homestays in Gaundhar Village.

Day 3: Gaundhar Village to Dhaula via Madhyamaheshwar Temple: Start your 3rd day journey early in the morning. The trek from Gaundhar Village to Dhaula is around 13 km and takes about 7-8 hours. You will love to explore Madhyamheswar Temple (one of the Panch Kedar Temples) dedicated to Lord Shiva. You can also extent your trek to 3 km and explore Bhudha Madhyamaheshwar Temple which is around 1.5 km from Madhyamaheshwar.

Day 4: Dhaula to Pandav Sera: After Staying a night in Dhaula, start your journey early morning to cover 11km trek to Pandav Sera. You will love to explore beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks. This 11km trail through ups and downs, offbeat paths, natural water resources will excites you and heal your soul for sure. Pandav Sera is believed a place where Legend Pandavaas used to farm.

Day 5: Pandav Sera to Nandi Kund: This will the last day of your trek to reach Nandi Kund. Nandi Kund is around 4km from Pandav Sera and 3 to 4 hour time will take to reach this beautiful location. You will love to explore this crystal cleared water lake and Panoramic views of Himalayan valley around. You can set a tent near Nandi Kund as per your convenience.

Day 6: Nandi Kund to Madhyamaheshwar Temple: After exploring Nandi Kund, start trekking back to Madhyamaheshwar Temple. Total distance for day 6 will be 15 km in 5 to 6 hour time will take to cover.

Day 7: Madhyamaheshwar Temple to Ransi Village to Rishikesh: Start your trek ack to Ransi Village early in the morning. Total time will take to cover 11km distance from 3 to 4 hours. You can drive back to Rishikesh on the same day.

  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
