Bali Pass Trek 2024 – Uttarkashi

The Bali Pass Trek is a challenging high altitude trek in Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand State, India. The trek takes you through some of the most beautiful and remote regions of the Himalayas, including the Govind National Park, Yamunotri, and the Bali Pass.

The trek usually starts from the small town of Sankri and and covers a distance of approximately 60 kilometers takes around 8-9 days to complete. During the trek, you will be walking through dense forests, alpine meadows, and glaciers. You will also cross several mountain streams and high-altitude passes, including the Bali Pass, which is located at an altitude of 4,900 meters above sea level. The trek also includes visits to the Yamunotri and Kedarkantha treks, providing opportunities to explore the cultural and natural wonders of the region. You will love to explore mini beautiful villages during trek and to meet local people, their local culture and way of living pahadi life using natural resources.

The trek is considered to be a moderate to difficult level trek and requires a good level of fitness and acclimatization. It is recommended to undertake the trek under the guidance of an experienced trekking company or a licensed trekking guide.

 Here is a day-wise guide for the Bali Pass Trek starting from Dehradun:

 

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri (187 km, 7 to 8 hours drive)

The first day of the trek begins with a 7-8 hour drive from Dehradun to Sankri, which is the starting point of the Bali Pass Trek. The drive takes you through scenic routes and passes by several small towns and villages. Once you reach Sankri, you can explore the town and prepare for the trek.

 

Day 2: Sankri to Seema Village via Taluka Village (14km Trek Distance)

The second day of the trek starts with a 7 to 8 hours trek from Sankri to Seema Village. The trek takes you through dense forests and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Seema Village is a Beautiful offbeat locations where you will stay in your second day trek journey.

 

Day 3: Seema Village to Ruinsara Tal/ Utnigad Campsite (18km Trek Distance)

The third day of the trek is a steep ascent from Seema Village to Ruinsara Tal/ Utnigad Campsite, which takes around 7-8 hours. You will trek through dense forests and reach the Ruinsara Tal Campsite. You will love to explore Snow capped view of Swargarohini Peak (6252m)

 

Day 4: Ruinsara Tal to Bali Pass Base Camp (6km Trek Distance)

The fourth day of the trek is a moderate trek from Ruinsara Tal to Bali Pass Base, which takes around 4-5 hours. The trek takes you through high altitude and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountain peaks. You will set up your camp at the base of Bali Pass.

 

Day 5: Bali Pass Base to Lower Dhamni (4000m) via Bali Pass (4900m)

The fifth day of the trek is the most challenging day of the trek as you will cross the Bali Pass, which is located at an altitude of 4900m. The trek takes around 10-12 hours and takes you through glaciers and steep ascents. After crossing the pass, you will descend to Lower Dhamni, where you will set up your camp.

 

Day 6: Lower Dhamni to Yamunotri (3165m)

The sixth day of the trek is a moderate descent from Lower Dhamni to Yamunotri, which takes around 5-6 hours. You will trek through forests and reach Yamunotri, which is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site.

 

Day 7: Yamunotri to Jankichatti (2575m) to Dehradun

The seventh and final day of the trek is a descent from Yamunotri to Jankichatti, which takes around 3-4 hours. From Jankichatti, you will drive back to Dehradun, which takes around 7-8 hours.

The Bali Pass Trek is a challenging high-altitude trek located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand in Uttarkashi District. The best time to visit Bali Pass Trek is during the summer months, from May to June, and the post-monsoon season, from September to October.

During the monsoon season, from July to August, the region receives heavy rainfall, making it difficult to trek. The trails become slippery, and the risk of landslides increases, making it unsafe for trekking. If you are still planning to visit during monsoon season, be update with road and weather conditions

During the winter months, from November to April, the region experiences heavy snowfall, making the trekking trails inaccessible.

Cancellation Policy

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
