Haat Kalika Temple, Pithoragarh

At an Elevation of 1760 m above the sea level, Haat Kalinka Temple is situated at Gangolihat in Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand state. It is believed that the Goddess Kali shifted her abode from West Bengal to this place and has been the popular goddess in the area ever since. Haat kalika Temple established by Guru Adi Shankaracharya and is more than thousand years old. This Temple has utmost significance for the people of Kumaon Region, especially the brave soldiers of Kumaon Regiment of Indian Army as Haat Kalika is considered as Patron Goddess of Kumaon Regiment.
