The Kalindi Khal trek is a challenging and strenuous trek that takes around 10 to 22 days to complete. The itinerary may vary depending on the weather conditions and the fitness level of the trekker. Here is a day-wise itinerary for the Kalindi Khal trek starting from Dehradun:

 

Day 1: Dehradun to Gangotri (3,048 meters)

Journey Starts from Dehradun City, and you will be driven to Gangotri which is around 243 kilometers distance. The drive takes around 10-12 hours. On arrival, you can explore the town and visit the Gangotri temple.

Day 2: Gangotri to Bhojbasa (3,775 meters, 14 km)

The trek starts from Gangotri, and you will walk along the Bhagirathi River to reach Bhojbasa. The trek takes around 6-7 hours.

Day 3: Bhojbasa to Nandanvan (4,340 meters, 10 km)

The trek continues from Bhojbasa to Nandanvan, which is a high altitude meadow with stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The trek takes around 6-7 hours.

 Day 4: Nandanvan (acclimatization day)

This day is kept for acclimatization to the high altitude. You can explore nearby glaciers and capture some beautiful views of Himalayan peaks and do a short trek to get acclimatized.

Day 5: Nandanvan to Vasuki Tal (4,880 meters, 6 km)

The trek from Nandanvan to Vasuki Tal is a steep climb through a rocky terrain. Vasuki Tal is a high altitude lake with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. The trek takes around 5-6 hours.

Day 6: Vasuki Tal to Khara Pathar (5,480 meters, 6 km)

The trek from Vasuki Tal to Khara Pathar involves crossing the Vasuki Glacier, and it requires technical mountaineering skills. The trek takes around 6-7 hours.

Day 7: Khara Pathar to Sweta Glacier (5,550 meters, 6 km)

Todays trek will take you to Khara Pathar to Sweta Glacier thourgh rough rocky glaciel trails. Trek is around 6 kilometres and it will take 5 to 6 hours to complete. Settle your tent there are stay for night.

Day 8: Sweta Glacier to Kalindi Base (5,713 meters, 6 km)

Today you will reach to Kalinid base camp from Sweta Glacier and trail crosses in between frozen snow patches with panoramic vews of peaks in surroundings. Set your tent n Kalindi base camp to stay there for night.

Day 9: Kalindi Base to Raja Parav (4,910 meters, 18 km) Via Kalindi Pass (5947 meters)

Today you will reach Raja Parav from Kalindi Base camp via Kalini Pass (one of the heighest passes in Uttarakhand) which is located at an elevation of 5974 meters. Enjoy some time there in peak and capture some memoeries and start your trail to Raja Parav.

Day 10: Raja Parav to Ghastoli (3,800 meters, 12 km)

The trek from Raja Parav to Ghastoli is a gradual descent through a beautiful landscape. The trek takes around 6-7 hours.

Day 11: Ghastoli to Badrinath (3,300 meters, 18 km)

The trek from Ghastoli to Mana Village is a gradual descent through the beautiful landscape. Mana Village is the last village on the Indian side of the border with Tibet. You can take lift from army trucks other vehicles (from personal experience).

Day 12: Badrinath to Rishikesh/Dehradun

Drive back to Rishikesh from Badrinath with some memorable moments of Kalindikhal Pass Trek. Badrinath to Rishikesh is around 291 kilometers distance and takes around 9 to 10 hours drive.

The best time to do the Kalindi Khal Pass Trek is during the summer months, from May to June, and then again from September to October, after the monsoon season. However, it is important to note that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, and it is always recommended to check the weather forecast and plan accordingly.   8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
