The trek to the Rudragaira Peak base camp starts from Gangotri and takes around 5-6 days to complete. The trail passes through beautiful meadows, dense forests, and high-altitude mountain passes, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The trek takes you through some of the most picturesque locations in the region, including Gangotri, Bhojbasa, Nandanvan, and Rudragaira base camp. The trail follows the Bhagirathi River, and you will cross several streams and walk through dense forests of deodar, pine, and rhododendron.

Day 1: Arrive at Gangotri You will arrive at the small town of Gangotri, which is the starting point of the trek. Spend the day exploring the town and acclimatizing to the altitude.

Day 2: Gangotri to Bhojwassa (3,780 m/12,402 ft) Start the trek from Gangotri and make your way towards Bhojwassa. The trek covers a distance of around 14 km and takes around 5-6 hours. The trail passes through dense forests of deodar and pine and offers stunning views of the Bhagirathi River.

Day 3: Bhojwassa to Nandanvan (4,440 m/14,567 ft) The trek from Bhojwassa to Nandanvan is a challenging one, covering a distance of around 10 km and taking around 4-5 hours. The trail passes through beautiful meadows and offers stunning views of the Bhagirathi group of peaks.

Day 4: Rest day at Nandanvan Take a day to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. Explore the surrounding area and enjoy the stunning views of the peaks.

Day 5: Nandanvan to Rudragaira Base Camp (4,900 m/16,076 ft) The trek from Nandanvan to Rudragaira Base Camp is a short one, covering a distance of around 6 km and taking around 3-4 hours. The trail passes through moraines and offers stunning views of the Rudragaira Peak.

Day 6: Rest day at Rudragaira Base Camp Take a day to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. Prepare for the summit climb.

Day 7: Rudragaira Base Camp to Camp 1 (5,400 m/17,716 ft) Start the summit climb early in the morning. The climb involves crossing a glacier and traversing steep slopes of snow and ice. Reach Camp 1 by the evening.

Day 8: Camp 1 to Summit (5,819 m/19,094 ft) to Camp 1 Start the final climb to the summit early in the morning. The climb involves crossing steep slopes of snow and ice and requires technical mountaineering skills. Reach the summit by mid-day and spend some time enjoying the stunning views. Descend back to Camp 1 by evening.

Day 9: Camp 1 to Nandanvan Descend back to Nandanvan, covering a distance of around 10 km and taking around 4-5 hours.

Day 10: Nandanvan to Bhojwassa to Gangotri Descend back to Gangotri, covering a distance of around 24 km and taking around 8-9 hours. Celebrate the successful summit of Rudragaira Peak.

Day 11: Departure from Gangotri Depart from Gangotri, taking with you the memories of the stunning trek to Rudragaira Peak.

Gangotri Town is from where Rudragaira Peak Trek starts is well connected with major roads and several major cities.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to explore the Rudragaira Peak Trek is during the summer months of May to June and September to October, when the weather is pleasant and the trekking conditions are favorable. During these months, the skies are clear, and the temperature is moderate, making it an ideal time to explore the stunning beauty of the Valley.

It is also worth noting that the monsoon season, which occurs from July to August, is not a good time to explore the Rudragaira Peak Trek due to the heavy rainfall and the risk of landslides and flash floods. If you are still planning to visit during monsoon season be update with roads and weather condition.

During the winter months of December to March, Rudragaira Peak Trek is covered in snow, making it difficult to trek. The temperatures also drop to sub-zero levels, making it unsafe for trekkers to venture out. Therefore, it is not recommended to explore the Rudragaira Peak Trek during the winter months.

  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
