Rupin Pass Trek

Rupin Pass is a high altitude mountain pass located in Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand at an elevation of 15,250 feet (4,650 meters) above sea level. It connects the Rupin Valley in Uttarakhand with the Sangla Valley in Himachal Pradesh.

The Rupin Pass is a popular trekking destination in India and is considered one of the best trekking trails in the Himalayas. The trek to the Rupin Pass involves a moderate to difficult level of difficulty and takes around 8-9 days to complete.

The trek starts from Dhaula village in Uttarkaashi, Uttarakhand and passes through beautiful forests, Rupin River by side, and lush green meadows. As you gain altitude, the landscape changes, and you'll encounter snow patches, boulder fields, and glaciers. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks, including Kinner Kailash, Kinnaur Kailash, and Har Ki Dun.

Crossing the Rupin Pass Trek is a challenging climb, and the weather can be unpredictable, with sudden snowfall or heavy rainfall. However, the breathtaking views from the top of the pass make it all worth it. The trek ends in Sangla Valley in Himachal Pradesh, where you can explore the local culture and visit the famous Kamru Fort. The Rupin Pass Trek is a popular high-altitude trek in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The trek starts from Dhaula village and ends in Sangla, Himachal Pradesh. Here's a day-wise guide for the Rupin Pass Trek starting from Dehradun:

 

Day 1: Dehradun to Dhaula (Total Distance: 186 km, 7-8 hours Drive)

You'll start your journey from Dehradun and drive to Dhaula village, which is the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around 7-8 hours, and you'll pass through beautiful villages and towns like Mussoorie, Nainbagh, and Purola.

 

Day 2: Dhaula to Sewa (Trek Distance: 10 km, Time: 5-6 hours)

The trek starts from Dhaula village and passes through dense forests and beautiful meadows. You'll cross several small streams and waterfalls and reach the village of Sewa, where you'll stay for day 2.

 

Day 3: Sewa to Jhaka (Trek Distance: 12 km, Time: 6-7 hours)

The trail from Sewa to Jhaka is a gradual ascent, and you'll pass through beautiful pine forests and apple orchards. You'll reach Jhaka village, which is known for its beautiful wooden houses and traditional architecture.

Day 5: Saruwas Thatch to Dhanderas Thatch (Trek Distance: 5 km, Time: 3-4 hours)

The trail from Saruwas Thatch to Dhanderas Thatch is a steep ascent, and you'll climb up to an altitude of around 12,000 feet. You'll pass through beautiful meadows and forests and reach Dhanderas Thatch, where you'll camp for the night.

 

Day 6: Dhanderas Thatch to Upper Waterfall Camp site (Trek Distance: 5 km, Time: 3-4 hours)

The trail from Dhanderas Thatch to Upper Waterfall Camp is a steep ascent, and you'll climb up to an altitude of around 13,000 feet. You'll pass through rocky terrain and snow patches and reach the Upper Waterfall Camp site, where you will stay for night.

 

Day 7: Upper Waterfall Camp to Rupin Pass to Ronti Gad (Trek Distance: 13 km, Time: 10-12 hours).

The trek from Upper Waterfall Camp to Rupin Pass is a steep climb, and you'll reach the top of the pass, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. You'll then descend down to Ronti Gad, where you'll camp for the night.

 

Day 8: Ronti Gad to Sangla Village (Trek Distance: 15 km, Time: 6-7 hours)

The trek from Ronti Gad to Sangla is a steep descent, and you'll pass through beautiful meadows and forests. Sange Village is the end point for Rupin pass Trek, further you can connect back to Dehradun or other places.

The best time to visit Rupin Pass Trek is from mid-May to mid-June and from mid-September to mid-October. During this period, the weather is generally clear and pleasant, and the views of the surrounding mountains and valleys are spectacular.

It is important to note that the Rupin Pass Trek is closed during the monsoon season, from mid-June to mid-September, due to the risk of landslides and flash floods. The winter season, from November to April, is also not recommended for trekking due to the heavy snowfall and harsh weather conditions.

  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
