Vishnu Prayag – Confluence of Vishnu Ganga and Dhauliganga River

Vishnu Prayag is one of the five sacred confluences (Panch Prayag) of the Alaknanda River in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The confluence at Vishnu Prayag occurs where two rivers merge to form the Alaknanda River. These two rivers are the Dhauliganga River and the Vishnu Ganga River. The Dhauliganga originates from the Niti Pass, while the Vishnu Ganga originates from the eastern slopes of Mana Peak. The joining of these two rivers creates a sacred site that is believed to have immense spiritual significance.

Vishnu Prayag is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus and holds great religious importance. The name "Vishnu Prayag" is derived from the combination of two words - "Vishnu," referring to Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities in Hinduism, and "Prayag," which means confluence in Sanskrit.
