Dodital Lake Trek

Dodital is a freshwater lake located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at an altitude of 3,024 meters above sea level and is surrounded by dense forests of oak, pine, and deodar. The lake is considered sacred by the locals and is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha.

Day wise Itinerary to Dodital Trek | Dodital Trek Full Guide

The Dodital trek is a 3-4 day trek that starts from the village of Sangam Chatti, located near the town of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand. Here is a day-wise itinerary for the Dodital trek from Dehradun:

 

Day 1: Dehradun to Sangam Chatti (Drive, 6-7 hours): Start early from Dehradun and drive to Sangam Chatti, which is the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around 6-7 hours, and you will pass through the towns of Mussoorie and Uttarkashi. Reach Sangam Chatti by evening, and stay overnight in a guesthouse or homestay.

Day 2: Sangam Chatti to Agoda (Trek, 5-6 hours): Start the trek early in the morning after breakfast. The trail passes through dense forests of oak, pine, and deodar, and you will also cross several streams and waterfalls. The campsite at Agoda is located near a beautiful meadow, and you can pitch your tents here for the night.

Day 3: Agoda to Dodital (Trek, 3-4 hours): Today's trek is relatively short and takes around 3-4 hours. The trail passes through beautiful forests and offers stunning views of the Bandarpunch and Swargarohini mountain ranges. Reach Dodital by afternoon, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the lake. You can pitch your tents near the lake for the night.

Day 4: Dodital to Sangam Chatti (Trek, 4-5 hours): Sangam Chatti to Dehradun (Drive, 6-7 hours) Start the trek back to Sangam Chatti after breakfast. The trek takes around 4-5 hours, and you will follow the same trail that you took while coming. Reach Sangam Chatti by afternoon, and drive back to Dehradun, which takes around 6-7 hours.

The best time to visit the Dodital Trek is during the months of April to June and September to November. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, making it ideal for trekking and enjoying the natural beauty of the region.

Avoid visiting the Dodital Trek during the monsoon season from July to August, as the region receives heavy rainfall and landslides are common, making it difficult to trek and travel. Still if you are planning to visit Dodital Trek during monsoon, be update with weather and roads condition.

  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

Cancellation Policy

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
