Kagbhusandi Lake Trek

Day wise Itinerary Kagbhusandi Lake Trek | Kagbhusandi Lake Trek Full Guide

Kagbhusandi Lake Trek is one of less explored treks and one of the difficult trek in chamoli District, Uttarakhand. During the trek, you will get to see stunning views of the beautiful Himalayan peaks, natural water resuorces, glaciers, mini lakes as well as the beautiful mini meadows. Here’s a day-wise itinerary for the Kakbhushandi Lake Trek via theGovindghat, bhyundhaar, nagtaal, and Raj kharak route:

 

Day 1: Rishikesh to Govind Ghat: Start your Journey early morning from Rishikesh to Govind Ghat, which is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. You can take a taxi or bus from Rishikesh to Govindghat, which takes about 8-9 hours from Rishikesh.

Day 2: Govind Ghat to Roop Dhungi: 1st day Trek to Kagbhusandi Lake starts from Govindghat to Roopdungi via Bhyundaar Village. Total trek distance will be 12 km for day 2, you will love to explore this offbeat trial in-between forest, mini rivers and uphill trails.

Day 3: Roop Dhungi to Rajkharak: Start your journey to Rajkharak early morning as you have to trek 15 km to reach 2500m to 4000m in a single. You will love to explore valley of kargilla and crystal clear Nagtaal Lake. Rajkharak is situated at an elevation of 4000m as a mini meadow surrounded by beautiful snow-capped Himalayan views.

Day 4: Rajkharak to Kagbhusandi Lake: After Staying a night in Rajkharak, start your journey early morning to cover 6 km trek to Kagbhusandi Lake. You will love to explore beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks. This 6 km trail through ups and downs, offbeat paths, natural water resources will excites you and heal your soul for sure. The lake is situated at an elevation of 5070m above the sea level known for its crystal-clear blue waters, which reflect the surrounding mountains and create a stunning visual effect.

Day 5: Kagbhusandi Lake to Bhyundaar Village: After visit and exploring Kagbhusandi Lake, start back your journey to Bhyundhaar Village. Today’s trek will be little longer upto 20km till village. You can also take a dip in Kagbhusandi Lake to heal yourself and soul, you will surely feel the medicinal value of this pure water.

Day 6: Bhyundhaar Village to Govindghat town: This will be the last day of trek from Bhyundhaar to Govindghat, total distance to cover is around 8 km easy trek. You can drive back to Joshimath and further on same day. If you can add 2 to 3 days in your journey, you will love to explore UNESCO Heritage site Valley of flowers and Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara.

Kagbhusandi Lake is a high-altitude lake located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The best time to visit Kagbhusandi Lake is during the summer months of May to June and September to October, when the weather is pleasant and the lake is accessible. Lake is situated at an elevation of 5000m and more above the sea level so temperature changes suddenly, be prepare for weather conditions.

During winters from October to April month, trek remains closed due to heavy snowfall and extreme weather conditions.

Note: One must require permission from Forest Department of Joshimath for Kagbhusandi Lake Trek.

  2. At Trek, all meals will be provided ( Healthy Food)
  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
