The Panchachuli Trek is a beautiful and challenging trek that takes you through the Darma Valley in Uttarakhand, India. It offers stunning views of the Himalayas, including the five peaks of the Panchachuli range. Here is an itinerary for the trek, broken down day-by-day:

 

Day 1: Delhi to Kathgodam Town

Take an overnight train from Delhi to Kathgodam, which is the nearest railway station to the starting point of the trek or you can Self drive your vehicle to reach Kathgodam.

 

Day 2: Kathgodam to Dharchula Town

Take a local bus or hire a taxi or you can self drive to reach Dharchula, which is around 271 kilometers from Kathgodam and drive takes around 10 hours to reach Dharchula.

 

Day 3: Dharchula to Dantu Village

Today you will reach to Dantu Village from Dharchula which is approximately around 73 km distance. Local Highway is connecting to Dantu Village, you can set tent with permission of local villagers or can stay in Homestays.

 

Day 4: Dantu Village to Panchachuli Base Camp

Today’s trek takes you through the beautiful valley of Dantu Villlage to Panchachuli Base Camp. Total trek distance is around 2 km and trail is between dense forest of Deodar and Bhojpatra Trees surrounded by Himalayan peaks around.

 

Day 5: Panchachuli Base Camp to Zero Point (Panchachuli Glacier) and back to Dantu Village

Today's trek is the most challenging as you will be climbing up to the Panchachuli Glacier Zero Point, which is at an altitude of 4,300 meters. The trek takes you through rocky terrain, glacial rocky trails and steep ascents, but the views of the Panchachuli peaks are breathtaking. The trek is around 8 km and takes 8-9 hours.

 

Day 6: Dantu Village to Kathgodam Town

Drive Back to Kathgodam from Dantu Village which is around 344 kilometers at a distance. Further you can continue after a night stay in Kathgodam Town.

Panchachuli Glacier Trek starts from Dantu Village and ends at same place. Dantu Village is connected with motorable road and nearby towns and cities. Total Trek distance is around 16 km from Dantu village and back.

The best time to explore the Panchachuli Glacier trek is from April to June and from September to November. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas, making it an ideal time for trekking and sightseeing.

In the summer months of April to June, the temperature ranges from 10°C to 20°C during the day and drops to 0°C to 7°C at night. The snow starts melting, and the vegetation begins to bloom, offering beautiful landscapes and an abundance of flora and fauna to observe.

The monsoon season from July to August is not a recommended time to visit the Panchachuli Glacier trek as the heavy rainfall can lead to landslides, making it difficult to trek and explore the region. If you are still planning to visit during monsoon season, be update with roads and weather conditons.

  1. During the trek, there will be places to stay in Camps or Tents (Camping)
  2. At Trek, all meals will be provided ( Healthy Food)
  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

 

 

Exclusion

  1. GST (Service Tax)
  2. Offloading Fees for Backpacks (Rs.250 Per day/Per bag)
  3. Food on the way to Base and from Pick and Drop

Cancellation Policy

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
