Day 1: Kathgodam to Munsiyari (2290m)

Arrive at Kathgodam railway station and take a taxi or bus to Munsiyari. The journey takes about 10-11 hours and covers a distance of approximately 280 kilometers. Overnight stay in Munsiyari.

Day 2: Munsiyari (2290m) to Lilam (1850m)

Start the trek early in the morning from Munsiyari. The trail passes through the village of Darkot and follows the Goriganga River upstream. The trek to Lilam takes about 6-7 hours and covers a distance of approximately 12 kilometers. Overnight stay in Lilam.

Day 3: Lilam (1850m) to Bogudiar (2450m)

The trail passes through dense forests of rhododendron and oak trees. The trek to Bogudiar takes about 5-6 hours and covers a distance of approximately 10 kilometers. Overnight stay in Bogudiar.

Day 4: Bogudiar (2450m) to Rilkot (3130m)

The trail passes through several small villages and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The trek to Rilkot takes about 6-7 hours and covers a distance of approximately 14 kilometers. Overnight stay in Rilkot.

Day 5: Rilkot (3130m) to Milam (3450m) via Laspa Village (3150m)

The trail passes through the village of Laspa and offers breathtaking views of the Trishul and Nanda Devi peaks. The trek to Milam takes about 7-8 hours and covers a distance of approximately 13 kilometers. Overnight stay in Milam.

Day 6: Milam Glacier (3450m)

Spend the day exploring the Milam Glacier and its surroundings. You can take a short hike to the nearby vantage points to get a closer look at the glacier. Overnight stay in Milam.

Day 7: Milam (3450m) to Rilkot (3130m)

Retrace the trail back to Rilkot. The trek takes about 6-7 hours and covers a distance of approximately 13 kilometers. Overnight stay in Rilkot.

Day 8: Rilkot (3130m) to Bogudiar (2450m)

Retrace the trail back to Bogudiar. The trek takes about 6-7 hours and covers a distance of approximately 14 kilometers. Overnight stay in Bogudiar.

Day 9: Bogudiar (2450m) to Lilam (1850m)

Retrace the trail back to Lilam. The trek takes about 5-6 hours and covers a distance of approximately 10 kilometers. Overnight stay in Lilam.

Day 10: Lilam (1850m) to Munsiyari (2290m)

Retrace the trail back to Munsiyari. The trek takes about 6-7 hours and covers a distance of approximately 12 kilometers. Overnight stay in Munsiyari.

Day 11: Munsiyari to Kathgodam

Take a taxi or bus from Munsiyari to Kathgodam.

The best time to explore Milam Glacier Trek is during the summer and autumn months, from May to June and September to November. During this time, the weather is pleasant with clear skies, and the meadows are covered in lush greenery and wildflowers.

In the summer months, the temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C during the day, making it comfortable for trekking. The views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks are also clearer during this time. However, it can get chilly at night, so carrying warm clothing is necessary.

In the autumn months, the weather is dry and clear, and the temperatures range from 5°C to 15°C during the day. The autumn months are also an excellent time to witness the changing colors of the leaves and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

It’s better to avoid travelling during Monsoon, if you are still planning to visit during monsoon – be update with roads and weather condition. Milam Glacier Trek remains closed during winters due to heavy snowfall in Valley.

  1. During the trek, there will be places to stay in Camps or Tents (Camping)
  2. At Trek, all meals will be provided ( Healthy Food)
  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

Cancellation Policy

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
