Sattal – Cluster of Seven Lakes
At an Elevation of 1370 m above the sea level, Sattal Lake is situated in the Nainital District of Uttarakhand State, Kumaon Region. Sattal means “Seven Lakes “is a mysteriously interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes, these groups of 7 lakes named as Sattal is around 22km from Nainital. As we approach Sattal, the first lake is the Nal Damyanti Lake. Ahead comes the Panna or Garude Lake. A little ahead is a cluster of three lakes – Ram, Laxman and Sita lakes. The other two lakes are Purna Tal and Sukh Tal. Sattal is a perfect vacation option for those who are looking for solitude. Surrounded by dense forest of oak and pine trees, Sattal is one of the few unpolluted fresh water body lake in India. Area around these lakes is a paradise for Himalayan and Migratory birds.
