Narsingh Devta Temple, Joshimath

At an elevation of 1875m above the sea level, Narsingh Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu is situated in Joshimath Town, Chamoli District of Uttarakhand State. Narsingh Temple is also known as Narsingh Badri Temple, the deity of the temple is fourth Incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Narsingh Avtaar in the form of half Lion and Half Man. Narsingh Temple is known as for Winter seat of Lord Badrinath, the idol od Badrinath Temple is taken down to Narsingh Temple by the priests (Pandit) of Lord Badrinath during winters, Badrinath idol is then placed along Narsingh Idol.

Thousands of devotees visits Narsingh Temple every year to take blessings from Lord Vishnu, especially during winters when Idol of Badrinath shifts from Badrinath Dham to Narsingh Temple.
