Dhumdhar Kandi Pass Trek is a popular high altitude trekking destination located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. The trek starts from Sankri village, which is approximately 200 km from Dehradun. Here's a day-wise itinerary for the Dhumdhar Kandi Pass Trek from Dehradun:

 

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri (200 km drive, 7 to 8 hours)

Start early in the morning from Dehradun and drive to Sankri village, which is around 200 km away. The drive takes around 7-8 hours.

On reaching Sankri, check-in to a guest house or homestay for the night.

 

Day 2: Sankri to Taluka to Seema (2560m) (12 km trek, 5 to 6 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Taluka which is around 15 km approx. at distance and start the trek to Seema village. The trek takes around 5-6 hours and goes through beautiful forests and river streams.

On reaching Seema, set up camp and stay overnight.

 

Day 3: Seema to Devasu Bugyal (3000m) (7 km trek, 4 to 5 hours)

Start trekking early in the morning from Seema to Devasu Bugyal after breakfast. The trek takes around 4 to 5 hours and goes through dense forests and meadow.

On reaching Devasu Bugyal, set up camp for the night.

 

Day 4: Devasu Bugyal to Ruinsara Tal (3500m) (12 km trek, 7 to 8 hours)

Start the trek early in the morning from Devasu Bugyal to Ruinsara Tal. The trek takes around 7 to 8 hours and goes through meadows and rocky uphill terrains. You will love to explore views of nearby Himalayan peaks and snow patches while trekking

On reaching Ruinsara Lake, set up your tents there and stay overnight.

 

Day 5: Acclimatization day at Ruinsara Tal (3500m)

Spend the day exploring the beautiful surroundings of Ruinsara Tal and acclimatizing to the high altitude.

You can also take a short hike to the nearby waterfalls or go fishing in the lake.

Return to the campsite for the night.

 

Day 6: Ruinsara Lake to Kyarkoti (3900m) (8km trek, 6 to 7 hours)

Start the trek early in the morning from Ruinsara Lake to Kyarkoti. The trek takes around 6-7 hours and goes through rocky hard trails and Glaciers. Kyarkoti is Base camp of Black Peak (Kalanag) and Swargarohini Peaks Summit.

After reaching Kyarkoti Campsite, setup your tents there and stay for overnight.

 

Day 7: Kyarkoti to Dharon Odari (4500m) (6 km trek, 6 to 7 hours)

Today you will trek toward Dharon Odari also known as Dharali Odari which is around 6 klimoteres from Kyarkoti. Todays trek will be exciting as you will trek in up hill Snow field.

After reaching Dharon Odari, set up your camps there and stay overnight.

 

Day 8: Dharon Odari to Dhumdhar Base Camp (5000m) (4 km trek, 5 to 6 hours)

Today’s trek will be challenging and tough as you have to cross crevassed glaciers and moraines. Set up your tent after reaching Dhumdhar Base Camp and stay overnight.

 

Day 9: Dhumdhar Base Camp to Ratiya Camp via Dhumdhar Kandi Pass (5490m) (6 km trek, 7 to 8 hours)

Today you will summit to Dhumdhar Kandi Pass Top which is location at an elevation of 5490m. You will love to explore panoramic view of Himalayan peaks includes Bander poonch, Swargarohini, Black Peak (Kalanag), Ghoda Parvat etc. After exploring Dhumdhar Kandi Pass Summit, start your trek towards Ratiya Campsite.

After Reaching Campsite, setup your tents there and stay overnight.

 

Day 10: Ratiya Campsite to Kyarkoti (3525m) (9 km trek, 4 to 5 hours)

Start your trek towards Kyarkoti Campsite which is around 9 klimoeters from Ratiya.

After reaching there, setup your tents and stay overnight.

 

 

Day 11: Kyarkoti Campsite to Dharian Gharat (3050m) (7 km trek, 4 to 5 hours)

Start your trek towards Dharian Gharat which is around 7 kilometers from kyarkoti Campsite. After reaching, set your tents there and stay overnight.

 

Day 12: Dharian Gharat to Jhala Village (9 km trek, 5 to 6 hours)

Crossing streams, dense forest and meadows, wyou will reach to Jhala Village after 9 km trek from Dharian Gharat Campsite. After reaching in Jhala Village stay, you can stay in Homestays or can set tents with the permission of local peoples. You can extent your days to stay in village, you will love to interact with locals and pahadi culture, way of living pahadi life, pahadi cusines etc.

 

Day 13: Jhala Village to Dehradun (214km drive, 7 to 8 hours)

This will the last day of your Journey to Dhumdhar Kandi Pass Trek. Drive back to Dehradun from Jhala village whivch is nearly around 214 kilometers at distance.

The summer and autumn months are the best time to explore the flora and fauna of the region. The region is home to several species of plants and animals, including Himalayan Tahr, Himalayan Black Bear, and several species of birds.

During the monsoon season, from July to August, the region receives heavy rainfall, making it difficult to trek. The trails become slippery, and the risk of landslides increases, making it unsafe for trekking. If you are still planning to visit during monsoon season, be update with road and weather conditions

During winters, Dhumdhar Kandi Pass Trek closes as trek covers with heavy snow that makes trail is impossible to trek for travellers.

  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
