The glacier is located at an altitude of about 3,860 meters above sea level and is surrounded by several peaks of the Himalayan range. Here is Day wise Itinerary to Kafni Glacier Trek:

 

Day 1: Kathgodam to Loharkhet (210 km, 10-11 hours)

The trek starts from the village of Loharkhet, which can be reached by road from the town of Kathgodam. The journey takes around 10-11 hours and passes through several small villages and towns.

 

Day 2: Loharkhet to Dhakuri (11 km, 5-6 hours)

Today's trek takes you through a forested trail to Dhakuri, a scenic meadow that offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

 

Day 3: Dhakuri to Khati (10 km, 5-6 hours)

Today, you'll trek through several small villages and cross several streams before reaching the village of Khati. Khati is a small village located on the banks of the Pindar River and is known for its ancient wooden temples.

 

Day 4: Khati to Dwali (11 km, 6-7 hours)

Today's trek takes you through dense forests of oak and rhododendron to the village of Dwali. Dwali is located on the banks of the Gori Ganga River and is known for its beautiful camping sites.

 

Day 5: Dwali to Khatiya (6 km, 5-6 hours)

Day 6: Khatiya to Kafni Glacier Zero Point and back to Khatiya (5 km 6 to 7 hours)

Day 7: Khatiya to Khati (19 km, 8-9 hours)

Today, you'll retrace your steps back to the village of Khati.

 

Day 8: Khati to Loharkhet (20 km, 9-10 hours)

The final day of the trek takes you back to the village of Loharkhet, where the trek ends.

 

Day 9: Loharkhet to Kathgodam (210km, 7 to 8 hours drive)

The best time to explore the Kafni Glacier Trek is from April to June and from September to November. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, providing excellent visibility of the surrounding peaks. The temperatures during these months are also moderate, making it ideal for trekking.

During Monsoon, it is not recommended to visit Kafni Glacier as roads may block due to heavy rain fall and trail gets difficult and risky. If you are still planning to visit during monsoon, be update with roads and weather conditions.

During the winter months of December to March, the Kafni Glacier Trek is covered in snow, making it difficult to trek. The temperatures also drop to sub-zero levels, making it unsafe for trekkers to venture out. Therefore, it is not recommended to explore the Kafni Glacier Trek during the winter months.

  1. During the trek, there will be places to stay in Camps or Tents (Camping)
  2. At Trek, all meals will be provided ( Healthy Food)
  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

 

 

Exclusion

  1. GST (Service Tax)
  2. Offloading Fees for Backpacks (Rs.250 Per day/Per bag)
  3. Food on the way to Base and from Pick and Drop
  4. Offloading fees for backpacks (Rs. 250/day/bag)

Cancellation Policy

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
