Nanda Devi Temple, Almora

At an elevation of 1604 m from the Sea Level, Nanda Devi Temple – dedicated to Goddess Durga, situated in District Almora of Uttarakhand State. Many Hindu Devotees from all over India visit this temple – Considering Goddess “Nanda” as “Destroyer of Evil”. This Ancient Temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is built in Pahadi style architecture within the premises of a Shiva Temple. The idol of the goddess Nanda is a huge monument with a stone crown encircled by a wooden roof. According to Hindu Calender Every Year in September month – Ashtami of Bhadra Shukla, the temple hosts a grand Nanda Devi Mela.
