Ralam Glacier Trek, Pithoragarh

The trek to Ralam Glacier is a popular adventure activity among trekkers and mountaineers. The trek usually takes around 7-8 days and involves crossing several high-altitude passes and camping in remote locations. Here's a day-wise itinerary for the trek to Ralam Glacier:

 

Day 1: Kathgodam to Munsiyari (283 Km drive)

Arrive at Kathgodam railway station and take a taxi or bus to Munsiyari. The journey takes about 10-11 hours and covers a distance of approximately 280 kilometers. Overnight stay in Munsiyari.

 

Day 2: Munsiyari (2290m) to Paton Village (1850m) via Lilam Village (7 Km Trek, 3 to 4 hours)

Start your day 2 from Munsiyari to Paton Village. From Munsiyari to Lilam Village you can hire taxi and then trek of 7 kiloneters to reach Paton Village. Stay Overnight in Village.

 

Day 3: Paton Village to Lingurani (2300m) (11 Km Trek, 6 to 7 hours)

Start your Day 3 trek from Paton Village to Lingurani which is around 11 at distance. You will trek steep from 1850m altitude to 2300m. After reaching Lingurani, setup your tents there and stay overnight.

 

Day 4: Lingurani to Killadum Camp Site (3290m) (10 Km Trek, 7 to 8 hours)

Today’s Trek will be to most challenging trek as you will gain 1000m approx. altitude from 2300m to 3290m. After reaching Killadum Camp site, setup your tents there and stay overnight.

 

Day 5: Killadum to Ralam Village (3640m) (8 Km Trek, 5 to 6 hours)

Today you will trek to Ralam Village which is around 8 kilomoters from Killadum campsite. After reaching Ralam Village, setup your tents and stay overnight.

 

Day 6: Ralam Village to Ralam Glacier (3900) andback to Ralam Village (9 Km Trek, 7 to 8 hours)

Today you will reach to Ralam Glacier from Village which is located at an elevation of 3900m (last reachable location). Aftere exploring Ralam Glacier and beautiful views of snow fields, glacier and peaks around, trek back to Ralam Village. Overnight stay there.

 

Day 7: Rilam Village to Lungrani (18 Km Trek, 7 to 8 hours)

Trek downhill towards Lungrani from Ralam Village. Todays trek distance will be 18 km and easy as compare to others as you have to trek downhill. Overnight stay in Lungrani Campsite.                                                                                                                            

Day 8: Lungrani to Lilam to Munsiyari via Paton Village (18km Trek, 7 to 8 hours)

Today you will trek back to Lilam Village via Paton Village and drive back to Munsiyari. Overnight stay in Munsiyari Town.

 

Day 11: Munsiyari to Kathgodam (283 Km drive)

Take a taxi or bus from Munsiyari or drive back to Kathgodam with memorable memories of Ralam Glacier Trek.

Best Time to explore Ralam Glacier Trek | Best time to visit for Ralam Glacier Trek

The best time to explore Ralam Glacier Trek is during the summer and autumn months, from May to June and September to November. During this time, the weather is pleasant with clear skies, and the meadows are covered in lush greenery and wildflowers.

In the summer months, the temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C during the day, making it comfortable for trekking. The views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks are also clearer during this time. However, it can get chilly at night, so carrying warm clothing is necessary.

In the autumn months, the weather is dry and clear, and the temperatures range from 5°C to 15°C during the day. The autumn months are also an excellent time to witness the changing colors of the leaves and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

It’s better to avoid travelling during Monsoon, if you are still planning to visit during monsoon – be update with roads and weather condition. Ralam Glacier Trek remains closed during winters due to heavy snowfall in Valley.

Inclusion

  1. During the trek, there will be places to stay in Camps or Tents (Camping)
  2. At Trek, all meals will be provided ( Healthy Food)
  3. At Camps, Bonfire will be provided according to weather conditions.
  4. For the Trek, there is fees for trekking permits and forest campsites.
  5. Trekking Supplies (Tents, Sleeping Bags, Ice Axes, Ropes, etc.)
  6. Expert Trek Leaders will there to Guide (Certified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  7. A skilled trek crew (Guides, Chefs, Assistants, porters/mules) is available.
  8. Protective Gear (First Aid Kit, Medical Kit, Oxygen cylinders (if necessary), stretcher, etc.)
  9. Trek Certificate for Completion.
  10. Basic Survival Techniques in forest by using natural resources etc.

  1. GST (Service Tax)
  2. Offloading Fees for Backpacks (Rs.250 Per day/Per bag)
  3. Food on the way to Base and from Pick and Drop

Cancellation Policy

At the time of booking, full payment is required.

For the Cancellation due to any reasons, Uttarakhand Guide must be notified of the same in writing at uttarakhandguide@gmail.com. At the time we receive your written cancellation statement, refunds policies will be applicable according to following conditions:

 

Cancellation before 30 days from the start of Trip

10 % will be deducted from total

 

Cancellation between 21 to 30 Days from start of Trip

35 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation between 10 to 21 Days from start of Trip

50 % will be deducted

 

Cancellation less than 10 days from start of Trip

No amount will be refunded

 

Note: After the cancellation date, the refund will be handled within 10 working days.

Cancellation fees will be determined based on the total trip cost, and they may vary depending on the date of departure and the date of cancellation.

 

There will be no refunds:

  • For any missed/unused tour services, including meals, owing to any reason.
  • If the tour's services are changed, altered, revised, cancelled, or not used.
  • If a customer cancels or is forced to cancel the tour due to changes in the itinerary or travel
